Level 3 Food Hygiene for Supervisors — UK Equivalent Training Online
Level 3 Food Hygiene is aimed at supervisors and managers responsible for the food safety management system — head chefs, F&B managers, contract catering supervisors and owner-operators. For most small UK food businesses, HACCP Level 2 covers exactly the same supervisor responsibilities and is what councils and contract clients typically accept as evidence of management-level training.
What Level 3 Food Hygiene exists to certify is the practical ability to apply HACCP principles — identify hazards, set critical limits, design monitoring procedures and corrective actions, and write the documentation an environmental health officer will expect to see. Our HACCP Level 2 course covers exactly those topics in 5 lessons with a 35-question final test (75% pass mark) and produces a private training certificate in the supervisor's name.
Most UK small businesses do not need a Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate specifically — what an EHO actually wants to see is that at least one person on site is trained to design and maintain the food safety management system. A HACCP Level 2 certificate evidences exactly that.
If a contract specifically requires a 'Level 3 Food Hygiene' certificate by name, our HACCP Level 2 training will not satisfy that contractual requirement and a regulated qualification from an awarding body should be sought instead. We are upfront that our certificates are private training certificates, not Ofqual-regulated qualifications.
